Fibrovein® is a prescription medicine used in sclerotherapy, a treatment for varicose veins and thread (spider) veins. It contains sodium tetradecyl sulphate, which works by irritating the inner lining of the treated vein. This causes the vein walls to stick together and eventually close, allowing blood to naturally reroute through healthier veins. Over time, the treated vein is reabsorbed by the body, improving circulation and reducing visible veins. Fibrovein is available in different strengths, making it suitable for both larger varicose veins and smaller superficial veins. The procedure is performed by trained healthcare professionals, often in an outpatient clinic, and may require more than one session for optimal results.
